My wellness journey didn't begin with a certification or a career plan. It began with loss.
When my mother passed away, I felt what grief does to a body — not just emotionally, but physically. The tension, the exhaustion, the way stress settles in and stays. That experience cracked something open in me and sent me searching for answers.
In 2020 I trained with the Center for Mind Body Medicine, and everything shifted. I began to understand, in a real and practical way, what stress and trauma actually do to the nervous system — and more importantly, what we can do to help the body recover. That training didn't just change how I work. It changed how I live. I joined the Allegany County Resiliency Network and currently partner with the Resilience Institute of Allegany College of Maryland for several mindfulness/wellness initiatives happening in our area.
Vibroacoustic therapy came into my life through a friend, and from the moment I experienced it, I knew it belonged in my toolkit. I went on to complete the Vibroacoustic Therapy Practitioner course and earned my certification as a VAT Practitioner. I brought that training — and everything that led me here — to Western Maryland, a place I am proud to call home.
Echoes of Allegany exists because I needed something like it once, and I believe others do too. Whatever brought you here, I am glad you found your way.

Vibroacoustic therapy (VAT) is a sound-based wellness practice that uses precisely calibrated low-frequency vibrations to promote deep relaxation, reduce stress, and support the body's natural ability to restore itself. During a session, you lie on a specially designed mat or table embedded with transducers that transmit therapeutic sound frequencies directly through your body — no music, no distraction, just pure frequency.
These low-frequency vibrations work in harmony with the nervous system, helping to quiet the stress response, ease muscle tension, and guide the body into a profound state of calm. Many people describe the experience as deeply grounding — a stillness that's felt from the inside out.
At Echoes of Allegany, sessions use pure vibroacoustic frequencies — no ambient music, no guided narration, no added layers. This approach allows the body to respond directly to the vibration itself, without the influence of melody, rhythm, or lyrical association. The result is a cleaner, more focused therapeutic experience that lets the frequency do exactly what it's designed to do.
Pure vibroacoustic therapy is used to support:
Stress and anxiety relief — calming an overactive nervous system
Chronic pain and muscle tension — reducing physical discomfort through targeted vibration
Sleep challenges — helping the body transition into deep rest
Trauma and emotional regulation — particularly for those in high-stress professions
Overall well-being — promoting balance, presence, and restoration
VAT is gentle, non-invasive, and requires nothing from you except the willingness to slow down. It is especially beneficial for:
Individuals managing chronic pain or fatigue
First responders, veterans, and others carrying occupational stress
Anyone seeking a deeper relaxation experience beyond traditional massage or meditation
Those curious about the direct physiological effects of sound on the body
You'll rest fully clothed on a vibroacoustic mat or table in a quiet, peaceful setting. Carefully selected low-frequency tones will be delivered through the surface beneath you, moving through your body at a physical level. Sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes. Most people notice a shift — calmer, heavier, more grounded — within the first few minutes.
No prior experience is needed. You simply arrive, settle in, and let the frequency work.
Vibroacoustic therapy has been studied in clinical and wellness settings for decades. Research suggests it can meaningfully reduce anxiety, lower heart rate and blood pressure, decrease perceived pain, and improve mood — making it a valuable complement to traditional healthcare and mental wellness practices.
